We’ll fish you out – NPP warns EC officials following issuance of Bawumia-less ballot papers
The incumbent New Patriotic Party has called for the immediate prosecution of Kintampo South electoral officer Joseph Dery for issuing ballot papers that did not have the name of their flag bearer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia during Saturday’s voting.
Dr Bawumia is the first presidential candidate on the paper but was missing on it.
Mr Dery was arrested after some polling station officials and party agents of the NPP blew the alarm.
Addressing journalists following the incident, the spokesperson for Dr Bawumia’s campaign, Mr Denis Miracles Aboagye, said: “The NPP is calling for Joseph Dery’s immediate prosecution because whatever he has done was a deliberate attempt to disenfranchise the Ghanaian people and the Ghanaian voter and to deny them their fundamental human right to vote.”
“Let every individual that has also been engaged by the NDC to perpetuate such acts to note that we are going to find you out because we have a robust system in place in every polling station to find you no matter the machinations.”
