We’ve learnt Ghanaians won’t tolerate misrule any longer – Ato Forson
Ghana’s Finance Minister, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, has declared that the current administration has recognised the Ghanaian people’s growing intolerance for misrule and poor governance.
Dr Forson made this statement during the swearing-in ceremony of six newly appointed ministers, held at the Jubilee House on Wednesday, January 22.
Addressing President John Dramani Mahama and a gathering of government officials, Dr Forson reflected on the lessons learned during the years in opposition.
“We have been with you throughout your days in opposition, and we have witnessed the misgovernance and misrule from the previous administration. We have learnt indeed that Ghanaians will not tolerate such misgovernance any longer,” he asserted.
The ceremony marked a significant moment for President Mahama’s administration, as it officially inaugurated six ministerial nominees whose appointments were approved by Parliament on Tuesday, January 21.
The appointees include Dr Dominic Ayine as Attorney General, John Jinapor as Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Haruna Iddrisu as Minister for Education, Eric Opoku as Minister for Food and Agriculture, and Governs Kwame Agbodza as Minister for Roads and Highways.
In his remarks, President Mahama charged the new ministers to uphold the principles of transparency, efficiency, and accountability in their work.
He emphasised the need for swift and decisive action to address the pressing challenges facing the nation, urging them to set a high standard in governance.
Dr Forson’s comments echoed the president’s vision, as he pledged the administration’s commitment to delivering good governance and addressing the needs of the people.
He assured Ghanaians that the government would work diligently to restore confidence and foster progress in all sectors.
