Ghana’s First Lady, Lordina Mahama, has made a donation of essential items to the national female Under-17 and Under-20 football teams as they prepare for their upcoming international assignments.

The presentation was made on Friday, May 22, 2026, on behalf of the First Lady by the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, at the Ghana Football Association Technical Centre in Prampram.

The gesture aims to support and motivate the young athletes while enhancing camp conditions and player welfare ahead of their respective matches.

The donated supplies consisted of essential food items and toiletries, including cartons of Milo, toilet rolls, soft drinks, and other essential provisions for the players and technical staff.

The Under-17 team, the Black Maidens, are currently preparing for their FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers, with a first-leg fixture scheduled against Liberia at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday, May 23, 2026.

Meanwhile, the Under-20 team, the Black Princesses, have already secured their place at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup after defeating Uganda, marking Ghana’s eighth consecutive appearance at the global tournament.

The First Lady's donation is expected to boost morale in both camps and reinforce national support for the country's youth female football development.
