Ghana arrive in Rhode Island for final World Cup preparations
Ghana have arrived in Providence, Rhode Island, for the final phase of preparations ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign.
The team left Virginia on Thursday afternoon and arrived at T.F. Green International Airport at about 6 PM local time.
Head coach Carlos Queiroz and his squad are expected to resume training on Friday as they continue preparations for their opening Group L match against Panama.
The Black Stars concluded a week-long training camp in Washington, following an international friendly against Wales in Cardiff. The camp included training sessions at American University and D.C. United’s training facility, as well as a farewell dinner with members of the Ghanaian community in Alexandria.
The team will now continue its final preparations in Providence before travelling to Toronto for their opening match on June 17 against Panama at Toronto Stadium.
Ghana will also face England in Boston on June 23 and Croatia in Philadelphia on June 27 in their remaining Group L fixtures.
Queiroz’s 26-man squad includes captain Jordan Ayew, Thomas Partey, Iñaki Williams, Antoine Semenyo, and goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi.
The team is also expected to undertake training sessions and community engagement activities in Rhode Island in the coming days.
