Ghana inaugurates first Para Swimming Association

Ghana has inaugurated its first-ever Para Swimming Association, a milestone in the country’s efforts to promote inclusivity and develop adaptive sports.
The official inauguration took place at the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) headquarters in Accra, where the Association’s inaugural board members were introduced.
Operating under the NPC, the new body is dedicated to creating opportunities for swimmers with disabilities and preparing them for both local and international competitions.
Ayishatu Farida Iddriss has been named the Association’s first President.
She will lead a committed team tasked with advancing the para sports agenda nationwide.
Haruna Mubarak has also joined the leadership as Deputy Director of Communications.
