Prices to drop at the pump

Motorists and households across Ghana can expect significant relief at the pumps beginning November 1, 2025, as fuel prices are set to drop sharply.

According to projections by the Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies (COoMAC), petrol, diesel, and LPG prices will all see notable reductions during the next pricing window.

Petrol: Prices are expected to fall by about 5.21%, dropping from GH¢13.93 to GH¢12.92 per litre, a reduction of GH¢1.01.

Diesel: Consumers will see a decline of 6.03% to 8.13%, with prices expected to drop from GH¢14.56 to around GH¢13.10 per litre, representing a GH¢1.46 decrease.

LPG: Prices are forecast to reduce by 6.66%, bringing the cost down to GH¢13.60 per kilogram.

The anticipated price cuts are largely attributed to the recent decline in global crude oil prices and the strong appreciation of the Ghanaian cedi against the US dollar.

The cedi gained 11.22% in the October 16 pricing window, nearly offsetting the 13.33% depreciation recorded in the third quarter of the year.

Energy analysts say the development will provide much-needed relief to consumers and transport operators, potentially easing pressure on calls for fare hikes.

The reduction could also help stabilise inflation, reduce transport and production costs, and improve overall cost-of-living conditions across the country.

The new fuel prices are expected to be officially implemented at pumps nationwide from Friday, November 1, 2025.
