GIPC, Canadian High Commission explore ways to deepen trade and investment ties
The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), Mr. Simon Madjie (Esq.), has reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to attracting foreign investment and strengthening strategic global partnerships.
He made the remarks when Canada’s High Commissioner to Ghana, H.E. Myriam Montrat, paid a courtesy call on him in Accra to discuss opportunities for enhanced economic cooperation.
Their meeting centred on boosting bilateral trade and investment between Ghana and Canada, with particular attention to the Canada–Ghana Foreign Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement (FIPA).
Both sides also explored potential collaboration within the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) framework to drive sustainable cross-border investment.
Mr. Madjie emphasised that such engagements were vital to improving Ghana’s investment climate, widening trade connections, and positioning the country as a competitive investment hub in West Africa.
He reiterated the GIPC’s dedication to promoting partnerships that support innovation, generate jobs, and foster inclusive economic growth.
For her part, High Commissioner Montrat praised the GIPC for its ongoing work in marketing Ghana as an attractive destination for investment and expressed Canada’s readiness to collaborate closely with Ghana to advance bilateral economic development
