The Board Chairman of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), Mr. Akwasi Opong-Fosu, has joined stakeholders, traditional leaders, entrepreneurs, and development partners at the Volta Regional Investment Roadshow — a flagship event aimed at driving balanced regional development across Ghana.
The Roadshow, held under the visionary leadership of President John Dramani Mahama, forms part of the Investment Opportunity Mapping Project (IOMP) — a nationwide initiative by GIPC to identify and harness untapped investment opportunities in every region of the country.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Opong-Fosu emphasised that the Volta Region, with its rich human capital, fertile lands, and strategic geographic position, is poised to become Ghana’s next frontier for industrialisation, trade, and sustainable growth.
He noted that the newly established GIPC Regional Office in Ho will work collaboratively with stakeholders in both the Volta and Oti Regions to promote targeted investments that create jobs, empower communities, and contribute to inclusive economic transformation.
“This Roadshow marks the beginning of a sustained national effort to spotlight regional opportunities, foster public-private partnerships, and ensure that no part of Ghana is left behind,” Mr. Opong-Fosu stated.
The GIPC Board Chair commended the collective efforts of local authorities, investors, and development partners in supporting the government’s regional industrialisation agenda.
He reaffirmed GIPC’s commitment to building a competitive, innovation-driven, and inclusive Ghana, stressing that balanced regional development is key to achieving equitable national progress.
“Together, we can build a prosperous Volta Region and a stronger, opportunity-filled Ghana,” he added.
