TDC Ghana Limited explores housing development opportunities in Ho

The Managing Director of TDC Ghana Limited, Mr. Courage K. M. Nunekpeku, has led a delegation to the Volta Regional Minister, Mr. James Gunu, as part of a working visit to the region.
The visit focused on inspecting lands under the Ministry of Works, Housing and Water Resources, a portion of which has been earmarked for allocation to TDC for housing development.
Mr. Nunekpeku highlighted that since its establishment in 1952, TDC’s activities were limited to the Tema Acquisition Area until its mandate was broadened in 2017 to extend beyond Tema — and potentially across Ghana.
He revealed that Ho has been identified as the first expansion site because of the strategic positioning of the land.
The site lies close to the Ho Airport, which has been designated as a pilot training school, as well as the regional hospital and several educational institutions.
These advantages, he explained, make Ho a highly attractive location for modern residential projects.
Mr. Gunu welcomed the initiative, commending TDC for extending its operations outside Tema.
He described the decision to begin in Ho as timely, noting that the Volta Region faces significant housing deficits.
The project, he stressed, has the potential to reduce accommodation pressures, generate jobs, and boost economic activity in the region.
The Minister further praised Mr. Nunekpeku’s vision and assured TDC of his full support to ensure the success of the Ho housing project.
Also present at the meeting was the Municipal Chief Executive of Ho, Mr. Stephen Adom.
