'Britain mourns Daddy Lumba, one of King Charles' favourite musicians' – UK High Commission

The Deputy High Commissioner to Ghana from the UK, Keith McMahon, has expressed “our condolences – I think, Britain’s and the whole world’s condolences” to Ghana and the family of Highlife singer Daddy Lumba, born Charles Kwadwo Fosu, over the singer’s recent demise.
He called Lumba “a cultural icon,” and underlined that the British Monarch “King Charles III, my king, was such a big of Daddy Lumba”.
McMahon buttressed by citing King Charles “had an iPhone’s list and on that was one of his favourite songs [from] Daddy Lumba, and I think that kind of shows the breadth of the reach that Daddy Lumba had across the world and was influential to so many people across the world”.
The diplomat said it was “important” to proclaim this about the Ghanaian music marvel in the presence of his family “and remind them that although he may no longer be with us, his influence will live for a long, long time”.
“So, God bless Daddy Lumba,” he prayed in conclusion, speaking to the media, having visited Daddy Lumba’s family to commiserate with them.
