Evangelist Prince Adu Asare criticises ‘fake pastors’ over alleged exploitation
Evangelist Prince Adu Asare has publicly criticised what he describes as the growing influence of “fake pastors” within the Christian community, accusing some religious leaders of exploiting vulnerable followers for financial gain.
Speaking during a live interview on 105.3 No.1 FM, Prince Adu Asare expressed concern about practices he said amount to corruption within certain churches.
He questioned what he described as inconsistencies in public attitudes toward alleged wrongdoing, comparing them to actions within religious spaces.
According to him, some individuals who seek spiritual support are allegedly pressured to make significant financial payments before receiving prayers or counselling.
He argued that such practices take advantage of people who are already struggling economically.
Prince Adu Asare further stated that women and other vulnerable individuals who work hard to earn modest incomes are sometimes required to part with large sums of money under the guise of spiritual intervention, a situation he described as unjust and exploitative.
Calling for accountability, the evangelist urged the public and religious authorities to scrutinise the actions of such leaders, stressing that the church should be a place of hope and support rather than a financial burden.
