Sarkodie reveals Shatta Wale pushed him to sing more on his songs
Award-winning Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has revealed that dancehall star Shatta Wale played a key role in pushing him to explore singing more on his records.
Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM, Sarkodie said Shatta Wale encouraged him to move beyond just rapping and embrace singing as the next phase of his musical growth.
According to Sarkodie, he recorded about three songs and sent them to Shatta Wale for feedback.
However, he admitted that he initially felt uncomfortable with some of the songs, especially the singing parts.
“I wasn’t very comfortable with some of the songs I did,” Sarkodie explained.
“But I wrote them, recorded them, and tried to bring them out even though it wasn’t easy for me.”
He disclosed that Shatta Wale kept motivating him to do more, insisting that singing more on his records was the right direction for his career evolution.
“Shatta Wale pushes me to sing more on my records.
He says that is the next phase for me,” Sarkodie stated.
The revelation has sparked conversations among fans about Sarkodie’s versatility and the impact of collaborations and peer influence within Ghana’s music industry.
