Manhyia Palace announces passing of Asantehemaa Nana Afia Konadu Yiadom III
The Manhyia Palace has formally announced the passing of the Asantehemaa, Nana Afia Konadu Yiadom III.
Her death was made public today by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, during a meeting of the Asanteman Council at the Manhyia Palace.
Nana Afia Konadu Yiadom III, who was enstooled at the age of 83, passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at the age of 91.
She ascended to the role on February 6, 2017, and was formally outdoored on May 6, 2017.
The week of celebration of her passing has been scheduled for Thursday, August 21, 2025.
Nana Afia Konadu Yiadom III was the 14th Asantehemaa, succeeding her mother, Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II, who ruled from 1977 until her passing on November 15, 2016, at the age of 109.
She was the first daughter of the 13th Asantehemaa and the elder sister of the current Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
