The Member of Parliament for Ada Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Madam Comfort Doeyoo Cudjoe -Ghansah, has called on state institutions to step up efforts to address the growing incidence of domestic violence in the country, warning against complacency in protecting victims.

Delivering a statement on the floor of Parliament, the legislator urged agencies mandated to tackle domestic abuse to intensify enforcement measures and ensure that existing laws are fully applied to safeguard vulnerable persons.

She stressed that domestic violence remains a serious social issue affecting families and communities, and called for urgent, coordinated action among relevant stakeholders to curb what she described as a rising menace.

Hon. Cudjoe- Ghansah further emphasised the need for stronger protection systems, timely interventions, and adequate support services for victims, including legal and psychosocial assistance.

According to her, a collective national response involving law enforcement, social welfare institutions, and community leaders is critical to ensuring justice and preventing further abuse.

Her appeal adds to growing concerns over domestic violence and renews calls for stronger policy implementation and public awareness to tackle the problem across the country.
