The Ministry of Health has issued a statement clarifying recent reports regarding the appointment of Ms. Anne Sansa Daly to the board of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), denying claims that she was officially sworn in as a board member.

In a statement signed by Ministry spokesperson Tony Goodman, the Ministry described a publication by Graphic Online on the matter as inaccurate and misleading, and provided a timeline of events to set the record straight.

According to the Ministry, Ms. Daly was initially appointed to the NHIA Board through a letter issued on May 19, 2025, along with other members.

However, this appointment was subsequently revoked by a second letter dated May 23, 2025, and a replacement was named.

“It is important to clarify that Ms. Daly was not sworn in on the 27th of May 2025 during the swearing-in ceremony held at the Ministry of Health,” the statement emphasised.

The Ministry reiterated its commitment to transparency and due process in all matters of public appointments and urged the media and public to rely on official communications for accurate information.

The clarification aims to put to rest public speculation and ensure confidence in the Ministry’s handling of board appointments to one of Ghana’s key health institutions
