In a statement addressed to media houses, the Minister for the Interior and National Security, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, said authorities received disturbing information that the truck was attacked in Titao on Saturday, February 14, 2026.

According to the statement, the vehicle was carrying tomato traders from Ghana when it became caught up in the incident.

Government said the Ghana Embassy in Burkina Faso is currently liaising with Burkinabè officials and has initiated steps to visit the attack site to gather details and identify any Ghanaians affected.

There are ongoing security concerns in parts of Burkina Faso and the wider Sahel region, where extremist attacks have disrupted civilian and cross-border commercial activities.
