Mamprugu overlord sends delegation to congratulate President Mahama

The Overlord of Mamprugu traditional area, Naa Bohagu Abdulai Mahami Sheriga, has dispatched a high-level delegation of traditional leaders to the Jubilee House to formally congratulate President John Dramani Mahama on his electoral victory in the December 2024 general elections.
The delegation, led by the Paramount Chief of Mamprugu, Bo-Naba A. Baba Salifu, delivered a message of goodwill on behalf of the Mamprugu Overlord, praising the President for his bold vision and progressive policies aimed at transforming Ghana’s future.
The visit also served as a reminder of the government’s commitment to prioritise development in the North East Region.
The chiefs reiterated their hopes for accelerated progress in key sectors such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, and agriculture.
In response, President Mahama expressed his deep appreciation to the Naa Bohagu and the people of Mamprugu for their warm support and encouragement.
He acknowledged the significance of the North East Region in the national development agenda and pledged to ensure that promises made to the area are fulfilled.
Touching on regional security, the President emphasised the urgent need for unity and collaboration in addressing the protracted Bawku conflict.
He called on all parties involved in mediation efforts to stay committed to achieving lasting peace and stability in the region.
President Mahama also commended the people of Mamprugu for their enduring engagement in national development and governance.
He assured them that their loyalty and contributions would continue to be recognised and appreciated.
