Education Minister, Deputy Communications Minister stable after Bolgatanga–Tumu highway crash
The Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, and the Deputy Minister for Communications and Digital Technology, Mohammed Adams Sukparu, are in stable condition following a road traffic accident on the Bolgatanga–Tumu highway in the early hours of Thursday, February 12, 2026.
The accident occurred as the two ministers, together with their convoys, were en route to the Upper West Region to participate in the 40th anniversary celebrations of Tumu College of Education and Jahan College of Education.

According to a statement by the education ministry, all occupants of the convoy sustained no life-threatening injuries and are currently receiving medical care.
The ministry assured the public that everyone involved in the incident is stable.
The statement also expressed gratitude to emergency responders, medical personnel, and members of the public for their prompt intervention and support following the incident.
The ministry said further information will be communicated as and when necessary.
