GA/R: Fire destroys girls' dormitories at Labone SHS

A fierce fire has ravaged three girls’ dormitories at Labone Senior High School in the Greater Accra Region(GAR), causing significant damage to school property and displacing several students.
The fire erupted while students were attending afternoon prep, completely reducing one dormitory to ashes while partially damaging two others.
The cause of the blaze remains unknown, and investigations are currently underway to determine its origin.
Emergency response teams, including the Ghana National Fire Service, arrived promptly to battle the flames and successfully contained the fire, preventing further spread to other buildings.
Fortunately, no casualties have been reported.
The affected students have been relocated to the school’s Assembly Hall for temporary accommodation while authorities assess the extent of the damage and plan the next steps.
School officials, along with relevant stakeholders, are expected to address the situation and implement long-term solutions to ensure the well-being of the displaced students.
Further updates will be provided as investigations continue.
