Haruna Iddrisu pays surprise visit to PRESEC-Legon, engages first-year students in inspiring dialogue

In an unexpected but warmly received visit, Member of Parliament for Tamale South and Minister for Education, Alhaji Haruna Iddrisu, made a surprise stop at the Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School (PRESEC-Legon) in the Greater Accra Region, where he briefly interacted with first-year students.
The respected legislator, known for his eloquence and long-standing service in Ghana’s Parliament, took time to share words of encouragement with the young students, urging them to combine discipline, diligence, and innovation in their academic pursuits.
According to eyewitnesses, the students appeared both surprised and inspired by his presence.
Haruna Iddrisu reportedly commended the school’s tradition of academic excellence and moral discipline, describing PRESEC as “a national treasure shaping Ghana’s future leaders.”
During the short engagement, he emphasised the importance of integrity, curiosity, and patriotism — virtues he said would define the next generation of Ghanaian thinkers and changemakers.
School authorities expressed appreciation for the visit, noting that such engagements bridge the gap between leadership and the youth while motivating students to aim higher.
The visit forms part of Haruna Iddrisu’s broader advocacy for youth mentorship and education-centred leadership, reflecting his belief that sustainable national development begins in the classroom.
“Ghana’s progress depends on how well we prepare our young minds today,” Haruna Iddrisu stated. “PRESEC represents the brilliance and discipline we need to transform our nation.”
