Defence Minister dismisses viral GAF e-recruitment letter

The Minister for Defence, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, has refuted claims circulating on social media regarding an alleged e-recruitment exercise by the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), describing the purported letter as fake.
In a statement shared on his official social media platforms, Dr. Boamah cautioned the public against falling prey to misinformation, stressing that the viral letter has no connection whatsoever with the Ghana Armed Forces.
“The letter which has gone viral on social media is fake,” the Minister stated.
“It has absolutely no link to the GAF. We’ll issue a formal statement when we advertise for recruitment and enlistment. Just stay tuned!”
He further revealed that the government is set to recruit and enlist 12,000 personnel into the Ghana Armed Forces over the next three and a half years, with the process expected to commence very soon.
The Defence Minister’s clarification comes amid growing interest among the youth in securing positions within the security services.
The Ministry has urged the public to rely solely on official GAF and Ministry of Defence communication channels for accurate updates regarding recruitment processes.
Authorities are also encouraging individuals to report suspicious recruitment schemes to law enforcement agencies to help combat fraud and protect potential applicants.
