GA/R: Teshie-bound lane of Kpeshie bridge reopened after major upgrade - Roads Minister announces
The Minister for Roads, Governs Kwame Agbodza, has confirmed that the Teshie-bound stretch of the Kpeshie Bridge in the Greater Accra Region has been fully reopened to motorists, restoring smooth traffic flow along that corridor.
The upgraded portion of the bridge forms part of the broader La–Teshie Beach Road Project and has now been completed and handed over for public use.
Mr Agbodza announced the reopening in a post on X on 28 November 2025.
Drivers who had endured years of inconvenience welcomed the update, having been compelled to use a temporary Bailey bridge while the main structure stood abandoned.
The renewed works on the Kpeshie Bridge, which resumed in November after long delays attributed to the former Akufo-Addo administration, have provided relief to commuters who rely heavily on the route.
The bridge upgrade forms a major component of the Accra–Tema Beach Road Expansion Project, aimed at improving mobility and reducing congestion along the coastal corridor.
