President Mahama tasks security services to uphold peace amid Northern border threats
President John Dramani Mahama has directed all security agencies in Ghana to intensify efforts to ensure peace and stability across the nation, particularly in areas affected by conflict.
He commended the security services for their exceptional performance during and after the recent elections, urging them to remain vigilant in addressing emerging security challenges, especially along the northern border.
The President held a crucial meeting with the heads of various security agencies at the Jubilee House earlier this morning, as tensions continue to simmer in Bawku over the long-standing ethnic conflict between the Kusasi and Mamprusi groups.
President Mahama emphasized the importance of maintaining national peace and stability, highlighting the escalating threats near the northern border as a critical concern.
This meeting forms part of the President's broader initiative to fulfil his campaign pledge to prioritize resolving the protracted conflict in Bawku.
He is set to visit the area to engage directly with stakeholders in a bid to foster dialogue and promote lasting peace.
In his address to the security leaders, President Mahama called for proactive measures and collaboration to ensure a peaceful and secure environment for all citizens.
