Aggrieved NDC members in Abura Asebu Kwamankese accuse Felix Kwakye Ofosu of arrogance and divisiveness

Some aggrieved supporters and branch executives of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Abura Asebu Kwamankese Constituency of the Central Region have called on the party’s national leadership to intervene in what they describe as growing tensions caused by the conduct of their Member of Parliament, Felix Kwakye Ofosu.
At a press conference led by Solomon Yaw Bentsil, a spokesperson for the disgruntled group, the MP—who also serves as Minister of Communication at the Presidency, was accused of arrogance, insubordination, and sowing division within the constituency.
The group appealed to national executives and President John Dramani Mahama to call the MP to order before the situation threatens the party’s chances in the 2028 general elections.
According to the group, Felix Kwakye Ofosu has continuously undermined the authority of Constituency Chairman Vincent Koomson, creating tension and disunity among party members.
They urged him to stop what they described as a “blame game” and to work collaboratively with the chairman for the good of the party.
“We are witnessing unprecedented levels of arrogance and discrimination from Felix Kwakye Ofosu.
His actions are alienating loyal party members and weakening our grassroots base,” Bentsil said.
The executives further accused the MP of sidelining known party loyalists in favour of appointing unfamiliar individuals to National Security roles and District Assembly positions.
They alleged that the MP had “sold” the National Security slots allocated to the party to unknown individuals, denying opportunities to committed NDC members.
“If the NDC performs poorly in 2028, Felix Kwakye Ofosu should take full responsibility,” Bentsil warned, adding that the MP must “reverse these appointments and show respect to the party structure” or risk further alienation from the constituency.
Several party supporters who spoke with journalist Samuel Nana Tawiah expressed similar frustrations, claiming that the MP has distanced himself from the very people who helped him win the 2024 election.
“Felix Kwakye Ofosu’s arrogance is a threat to the NDC’s success in this constituency.
He needs to change his ways before it’s too late,” one supporter said.
The group concluded by urging national leadership to step in and restore unity and discipline within the constituency, stressing that internal peace was crucial to maintaining the party’s electoral strength in the region
