Dec. 7 Polls: Let us cast our ballots in peace – Akufo-Addo to Ghanaians

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has called on Ghanaians to approach the December 7 polls with peace, tolerance, and mutual respect, urging citizens to uphold the nation’s unity and democratic values.
Addressing the nation on Friday, 6 December 2024, President Akufo-Addo emphasised the crucial role of security agencies in ensuring a safe and orderly electoral process.
“The security agencies, led by the police, have also made all the relevant deployments and preparations that will guarantee the peace, law, and order of the nation prior to, during, and after the election. Let us all cooperate with them to ensure that the election is conducted in an atmosphere devoid of intimidation and violence,” he said.
The President encouraged Ghanaians to cast their votes in a manner that reflects dignity and respect for others.
“Let us go and cast our ballots in peace and dignity and in an environment of tolerance and mutual respect. Each one of us should go out and do his or her duty to ensure a peaceful and prosperous Ghana and vote freely for your preferred candidate,” he added.
Expressing confidence in the Electoral Commission (EC), President Akufo-Addo assured the public of the commission’s readiness to deliver a credible and transparent election.
