EC to complete printing of NPP ballots on Thursday
The Electoral Commission (EC) is set to complete the printing of ballot papers for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) upcoming presidential primary by Thursday, as preparations intensify ahead of the party’s internal election scheduled for January 31, 2026.
The printing exercise, which began on Tuesday, January 20, forms part of logistical arrangements to ensure a smooth, transparent and timely presidential primary process in which delegates will select the NPP’s flagbearer for the 2028 general elections.
Officials from the EC, alongside representatives from the NPP and agents of the presidential aspirants, are supervising the printing process to help safeguard accountability and reduce the risk of irregularities.
The EC made this announcement in a meeting with the party executives and representatives of the aspirants in Accra on Monday
The Secretary of the Presidential Election Committee, Mr William Yamoah, speaking in an interview on Accra -based Neat FM, said the presidential primary is part of broader preparations within the party, with other key activities, including exhibition and verification of the party’s delegates register, having already been concluded to tighten internal electoral processes.
She said the party is printing the album with the agents of the aspirants supervising the process.
He said that printing the ballot will be done in three shifts, with the aspirants providing six agents each to monitor the process throughout the 24-hour printing.
