Gov't appointments: Your time will come, says Asiedu Nketia to NDC members

National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketia has urged members of the governing party who have not gotten any government appointments to continue to stay loyal to the party and support President John Mahama to succeed.
He indicated that the number of people qualified for appointments were more than the number of slots available, making it impossible to appoint every party member into government.
Mr Nketia spoke in the Eastern Region on his three day Thank You Tour.
Addressing NDC members at Asuogyaman, including branch and constituency executives, ward coordinators, former executives, cadres, assembly members and some identifiable groups in the Asuogyaman district, Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketiah expressed satisfaction over the level of dedication and commitment exhibited by the party's executives and entire membership towards the 2024 electoral victory.
He noted that all the party executives deserved another term if only they wished to contest in their respective positions.
He highlighted President Mahama had a four-year term and an option to reshuffle, hence the possibility of the qualified many to serve in government was higher, urging members to wait for their time.
He said it was better to be a floor member in government than to be the same in opposition.
However, Mr Nketia assured party members of more job opportunities, including vacancies in the police service and other security agencies, urging members to take advantage of thse and join when the agencies announced openings.
The first day of the NDC chairman's tour covered Asuogyaman, Lower Manya Krobo, Upper Manya Krobo, Yilo Krobo and the Okere constituency.
Day two will cover the AKuapem North, AKuapem South, Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Upper West Akyem, and Lower West Akyem constituencies.
The final day will be at the Asene-Maaso- Akroso, Achiase, Swedro, Akyem Oda, Kade, and Akwatia constituencies, as he aims to visit 16 constituencies in this phase of his thank you tour.
