Lands Minister participates in ministerial AI bootcamp to enhance public sector innovation

The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has joined a select group of Ministers of State and key stakeholders at a three-day Artificial Intelligence (AI) training programme aimed at strengthening the integration of AI technologies into government operations.
The Ministerial AI Bootcamp, held under the auspices of the Ministry of Communications, Digital Technology and Innovation (MoCDTI) in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), brought together top policymakers and technical experts from both the public and private sectors. The training focused on the potential of AI to transform service delivery and policy implementation across ministries and agencies.
In his opening address, the Minister for Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovation, Mr. Samuel Nartey George, clarified that the purpose of the bootcamp was not to train software developers, but to empower leaders with a strategic understanding of AI to help drive Ghana’s soon-to-be-launched National AI Strategy.
Officially launching the training programme, Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, announced that AI-driven solutions developed during the bootcamp would be incorporated into the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of participating ministries, ensuring that the knowledge gained translates into measurable outcomes.
Mr. Buah was joined by the Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Alhaji Yusif Sulemana, MP, and the Ministry’s Director of Communications, Madam Ama Mawusi Mawuenyefia, in reaffirming the ministry's commitment to leveraging AI to enhance transparency, efficiency, and innovation in the management of Ghana’s natural resources.
By the end of the training, each participating ministry is expected to submit practical AI use cases along with implementation roadmaps, developed with technical support from the UNDP, to guide sector-specific digital transformation efforts.
