MP for North Dayi elected to IPU Bureau of Young Parliamentarians
At the ongoing Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly, Hon. Joycelyn Quashle, Member of Parliament for North Dayi Constituency in the Volta Region, has been elected as a Member of the IPU Bureau of Young Parliamentarians, representing the African Group.
Her election follows the nomination of Hon. Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe, who was initially selected to fill a vacant position on the Bureau.
However, due to the age eligibility requirements outlined in the Rules of the Forum of Young Parliamentarians, Hon. Cudjoe’s nomination was subsequently replaced.
The Forum later put forward Hon. Quashie, whose nomination was endorsed and successfully elected by the Assembly of young parliamentarians.
She will now serve as Africa’s representative on the Bureau, contributing to efforts to promote youth participation and leadership in parliamentary governance worldwide.
According to the IPU Secretariat, the official list of Bureau Members will soon be updated to include Hon. Joycelyn Quashle on the IPU website in the coming days.
