PNC swears in new executives and outdoors Bernard Mornah
The People's National Convention (PNC) has officially sworn in its newly elected executives and introduced Mr Bernard Anbataayatela Mornah as the party's flagbearer for the 2024 general elections.
The swearing-in ceremony was conducted by Colonel Bayehor, Chairman of the Council of Elders, and was witnessed by Mr Alhassan Azong, Chairman of the Congress Committee.
The event attracted dozens of enthusiastic party supporters.
During his address, Mr Mornah paid tribute to Dr Kwame Nkrumah and Dr Hilla Limann, describing them as his inspirations.
"I am humbled because I am coming to lead a political party and tradition that has the founder of the nation, Dr Kwame Nkrumah, as its root and Dr Limann as the stem.
"I will be the branch to bear fruits," he emphasised.
Mr Mornah outlined his vision for the party, stating, "Ghana will be for Ghanaians and Africa will be for Africans."
He also expressed concern over the state of political leadership in Ghana, attributing the country’s poverty to poor governance.
"Ghana needs a courageous leader like me to ensure that the resources of the state are not expropriated," he said.
Concluding his speech, Mr Mornah assured his supporters, "Change has come to Ghana with Bernard Anbataayatela Mornah in charge."
He also hinted at announcing his running mate in the coming days.
