President Mahama meets Malian Prime Minister

Describing the meeting as fruitful, President Mahama highlighted the longstanding trade relations between Ghana and Mali, particularly in transit trade.
He assured that both nations would work to strengthen their economic ties for mutual benefit.
President Mahama also emphasized the need to revive the stalled Technical Joint Cooperation between the two countries, reaffirming Ghana’s commitment to deepening bilateral collaboration.
Additionally, he called for greater unity among West African nations in the fight against insurgency and terrorism, stressing the importance of collective security efforts within the sub-region.
Prime Minister Maiga expressed his gratitude to President Mahama for the warm reception upon his arrival on Wednesday night.
He acknowledged the strong historical ties between Ghana and Mali, referencing the Ghana-Guinea-Mali Union as a foundation for continued cooperation.
He also appreciated Ghana for being a welcoming home to thousands of Malians, reinforcing the enduring friendship between the two nations.
