V/R: Tanko Kwamigah-Atokple elected to Council of State, promises to leverage 'rich' natural resources for regional autonomy

The Electoral Commission (EC) has officially announced Gabriel Adovoe Kwabla Tanko Kwamigah-Atokple as the Volta Regional Representative on the Council of State.
Speaking to the media, Mr Kwamigah-Atokple thanked the electoral college.
Recognising it had been “God from the beginning and it is God now,” he revealed, also, he drew inspiration from Psalm 91 and Habakkuk 2:3.
He said he was “really humbled” to be given such a mantle to provide “advisory services to the president” per Article 89.
On his focus in the discharge of his duties, he underlined: “I’ve always said that Volta possesses 60 per cent of Ghana’s resources. And I’m going to use that leverage to partner with donor partners across the globe and see how best we can make the region autonomous.”
A man in his mid-30s, he remarked, “I’ve always said it’s not about being young. The youth of course should be involved in government policies and I’d want to say that I’m going to make a difference. At the end of the day, victory will be for the region.”
Kwamigah-Atokple was a candidate in the 2023 National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primaries in Ketu North.
