Ghana has been confirmed as the host of the One Humanity International Beach Soccer Cup 2026, an international tournament aligned with the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC)–led One Humanity Campaign, which promotes unity, dialogue and shared human values through sport.

Scheduled for May 8–10, 2026, the competition will feature national teams from Ghana and Nigeria, with two additional teams yet to be confirmed.

The event will transform Ghana’s coastline into a hub for elite beach soccer, cultural exchange and community activities.

Organisers describe the tournament as a sport-for-impact platform that combines high-level competition with social initiatives.

Planned activities include a fan zone, coastal and community tournaments, beach clean-up exercises, a sponsored coastal walk and an outdoor concert focused on youth, culture and unity.

Banasco Nuhu Seidu, Executive Director of NASCO Feeding Minds and Lead Organiser, underlined that the event forms part of a broader long-term vision for sport in Ghana.

“This is more than a tournament. It is about legacy, opportunity and using sport to unite communities and inspire young people,” he said.

At the launch, partner organisations highlighted the developmental focus of the event.

Fatou Ndiaye, Acting UN Resident Coordinator, emphasised sport as a unifying tool, while the Chief of Mission for the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Ghana, Togo and Benin said the initiative prioritises youth and community growth.

“Beyond the programme, this initiative focuses on youth and community and this encourages growth for those who will participate,” she said.

Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), described the tournament as timely and strategic for Ghana’s sports development.

“Beach soccer offers a unique opportunity to activate our coastline while showcasing Ghana’s readiness to host world-class international sporting events,” he said.

Yaw Gyamfi Kusi Awere, Chairman of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Beach Soccer Committee, added that it would boost the sport locally.

“This tournament provides vital international exposure for our players and strengthens Ghana’s place within the global beach soccer ecosystem,” he said.

The competition is being organised in collaboration with Beach Soccer Worldwide (BSWW), the sport’s global governing body. Details on venues, match schedules and side events are expected in the coming weeks.

Positioned as both a sporting spectacle and a social-impact initiative, the One Humanity International Beach Soccer Cup Ghana 2026 aims to use beach soccer to advance youth empowerment, cultural exchange, community engagement and sustainable legacy development, reinforcing Ghana’s role as a host of purpose-driven global sport.
