GIPA to host over 2,000 participants at Invest Ghana Summit 2026
The Ghana Investment Promotion Authority (GIPA) is set to host more than 2,000 local and international investors, diplomats, policymakers and business leaders at the maiden edition of the Invest Ghana Summit 2026.
The two-day summit is scheduled for November 16 and 17, 2026, at the Kempinski Hotel, Gold Coast City, Accra, under the theme, “Investing in Ghana’s New Economy, Building a Productive Economy that Creates Value and Competes Globally”.
The event, which will be held under the distinguished patronage of President John Dramani Mahama, is expected to showcase Ghana’s investment opportunities including recent economic reforms and opportunities linked to the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
Speaking at the media launch of the summit and the 22nd Ghana Club 100 Awards, GIPA Chief Executive Officer, Simon Madjie, said recent improvements in Ghana’s economic conditions have helped restore investor confidence and created a stronger foundation for the next phase of economic growth.
He said the government’s focus on infrastructure, domestic production, industrialisation, exports and initiatives including the Big Push Programme, the 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development Programme as well as the New Economy Programme are creating new opportunities for private investment and partnerships.
Mr. Madjie also highlighted the Ghana Investment Promotion Authority Act, 2026 (Act 1173), describing it as a major reform of Ghana’s investment framework.
The new law, he said, has removed the minimum capital requirement for joint ventures and wholly owned foreign enterprises while maintaining a $500,000 cash requirement for foreign businesses operating in the retail space.
“The result is a more open, flexible, and investor-friendly framework that makes it easier to establish, to operate, and grow your business in Ghana,” he said.
According to the CEO, the next priority is to mobilise the investment, technology, expertise and partnerships needed to turn Ghana’s emerging opportunities into productive enterprises, jobs and sustainable economic growth.
He said Ghana must also use the approach to its 70th year of independence to develop a new investment narrative centred on productive investment.
“The narrative must not reflect only the opportunities Ghana offers to investors, but also our longstanding aspiration to build a prosperous and self-reliant economy that contributes meaningfully to Africa’s economic transformation,” he said.
The Invest Ghana Summit will bring together investors, business leaders, policymakers, development finance institutions and other partners from Ghana across Africa and around the world.
The summit is expected to present Ghana’s investment proposition to the global business community and showcase opportunities emerging from national programmes across key sectors and regions.
It will also provide investors with direct access to credible projects, Ghanaian businesses seeking partnerships and institutions responsible for facilitating investment.
Simon Madjie said the summit will go beyond positioning Ghana as an investment destination and will focus on creating conditions for serious business engagements, investor commitments, partnerships and transactions.
“Through the summit, we want to reinforce the message that His Excellency the President and the Minister of Trade have constantly echoed to the international investment community. Ghana is indeed open for business" he emphasised.
The summit will also feature the 22nd Ghana Club 100 Awards on November 18, 2026, at the Palms Convention Centre in Accra.
The awards, which are GIPA’s flagship corporate recognition programme, will honour top-performing Ghanaian companies for excellence, innovation, growth and contributions to national economic development.
Companies across various sectors have already submitted a significant number of entries ahead of the October 23, 2026 deadline.
Mr Madjie said the strong participation demonstrates the commitment of businesses operating in Ghana to excellence and economic growth despite the challenging global business environment.
“We are encouraged by the overwhelming response from the private sector. The strong participation so far is a testament to the credibility of the Ghana Club 100 and the determination of businesses operating in Ghana to pursue excellence, innovation and sustainable growth,” he stated.
He called on businesses, the investment community, diplomatic and development partners, and government to participate fully in the events to ensure that Ghana’s opportunities are effectively presented and that the summit delivers meaningful outcomes.
Both events are being held in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry (MOTAI), the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), the Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA) and the Bank of Ghana.
They are also supported by various ministries, departments and agencies as well as private-sector partners including MTN Ghana, Zhijing Golden Ridge Limited, KGL Group, Mohinani Group, Pay Angel, BS Plus, Advance Savings and Loans, Swami India Ghana Limited, Guinness Ghana Limited, GB Foods, Azar Group and Kasapreko Company Limited.
GIPA is the statutory agency established under the Ghana Investment Promotion Authority Act, 2026 (Act 1173) to promote, facilitate, coordinate and regulate investments in Ghana.
The authority serves as Ghana’s lead investment promotion agency, driving strategic investment, supporting investor facilitation and aftercare, and advancing Ghana’s competitiveness as a preferred destination for business and investment in Africa.
