Ghana Gas refutes claims of irregularities in insurance renewal
The Ghana National Gas Company Limited has rejected claims of wrongdoing in its recent procurement dealings, maintaining that all procedures were conducted in line with the law and relevant regulations.
In a statement dated April 13, 2026, the company explained that reports alleging irregularities stem largely from the renewal of its lead insurance cover after earlier contracts expired at the end of the year.
It noted that the transition to new insurers was part of routine operational practice and aligned with efforts to strengthen its risk management framework and protect company assets.
Ghana Gas further indicated that all agreements entered into have undergone the necessary approvals, including clearance from the Public Procurement Authority and financial commitments endorsed by the Ministry of Finance.
The company therefore dismissed suggestions of any breaches, insisting that established procurement procedures were strictly adhered to.
Reaffirming its responsibility to stakeholders, Ghana Gas said it remains committed to delivering reliable and efficient gas supply to support the country’s energy sector.
It added that it will continue to strengthen internal systems to improve compliance, enhance risk controls, and boost operational performance.
