Gov't to engage stakeholders on rollout of publican digital inspection solution
The government has announced plans to hold a stakeholder engagement on the deployment of the Publican Digital Inspection Solution, a key digital initiative outlined in the 2026 Budget Statement to modernise customs administration and enhance revenue mobilisation.
The system is intended to strengthen cargo management at Ghana’s ports, improve risk profiling, and enhance the detection of trade irregularities such as undervaluation, misclassification and smuggling within the import and export ecosystem.
As part of the implementation roadmap, the Ministry of Finance, in collaboration with the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), is organising the engagement to discuss the operational framework of the system and the role of stakeholders in its nationwide rollout.
The stakeholder meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at the Oak Plaza Hotel, Airport East, Accra.
According to the Ministry, the engagement will provide a platform for industry players, traders and other relevant stakeholders to share their views and contribute to the successful implementation of the digital trade facilitation initiative, which is expected to create a level playing field and improve compliance across the sector.
The invitation was issued by the Deputy Minister for Finance, Thomas Nyarko Ampem, who expressed confidence in the cooperation of stakeholders to ensure the smooth deployment of the system.
Further information regarding the engagement can be obtained from the Ministry of Finance through its designated contact person.
