Government pays ¢10.8bn DDEP coupon in full and in cash

The Government of Ghana has paid ¢10,816,840,318.26 to bondholders under the Domestic Debt Exchange Programme (DDEP).
The Ministry of Finance announced the payment in a press release dated Wednesday, August 19, 2026.
The payment brings the total amount paid to bondholders since 2025 to GH¢41.36 billion.
According to the Ministry, this is the third DDEP coupon payment made fully in cash, and it was paid in full and on schedule.
The Ministry said the timely payment demonstrates the government’s fiscal discipline and commitment to meeting its debt obligations.
It said the payment would strengthen investor confidence, reduce sovereign default risk and reinforce Ghana’s financial credibility.
The government has also assured bondholders, investors and the public that future DDEP obligations will be paid in full and on schedule.
