President Mahama hails CEO compact 2026 at Ghana CEO Summit
President John Mahama has returned to the 10th Ghana CEO Summit, where he launched the Government–CEO Compact 2026, a new framework designed to strengthen collaboration between the public and private sectors and ensure that economic growth translates into measurable benefits for citizens.
Speaking at the summit, the President noted that his repeated participation in the event over the years reflects the growing synergy between government and the private sector, which he described as critical to national development.
The newly launched Compact is expected to serve as a roadmap for mutual accountability between government and business leaders, with a focus on driving sustainable economic transformation and inclusive growth.
President Mahama indicated that he had instructed the Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry to fast-track the review of the Compact through the Attorney General’s office to ensure swift implementation.
He reiterated government’s commitment to scaling up local industrial capacity and harnessing the opportunities presented by continental trade frameworks to boost economic expansion.
Highlighting key policy initiatives, the President pointed to the 24-Hour Economy programme, which he said is aimed at driving continuous production, creating jobs, and increasing output across key sectors of the economy.
He also referenced the Big Push infrastructure programme, noting that it is enhancing transportation and energy networks to reduce transit times and support industrial growth.
Additionally, he cited the Accelerated Export Development Programme, which is designed to expand export opportunities and improve foreign exchange earnings for the country.
According to him, these interventions are part of a broader strategy to build a resilient, diversified, and technology-driven economy capable of competing globally.
President Mahama further emphasized the importance of collaboration with the private sector, stressing that national prosperity is closely tied to business success.
He called on industry leaders to work closely with government in advancing shared goals, insisting that collective effort is essential to ensuring inclusive development and long-term economic progress for all Ghanaians.
