MTN Ghana to introduce 0.75% new charges on MoMo-to-bank transfers from June 1
MTN Ghana has announced the introduction of new transaction charges on transfers from Mobile Money wallets to bank accounts, with the changes set to take effect from June 1, 2026.
In a message sent to customers on Monday, the telecommunications company disclosed that users will now pay a fee of 0.75 per cent on every transfer from a MoMo wallet to a bank account, subject to a maximum charge of GHS 5 per transaction.
According to MTN Ghana, the adjustment is intended to support improvements in service delivery and enhance customer experience.
The new policy is expected to generate discussions among mobile money users, particularly businesses and individuals who regularly use MoMo-to-bank transfers for commercial transactions, salary payments and routine financial activities.
Under the revised structure, customers will be charged based on the value of each transaction, although the deduction on any single transfer will not exceed GHS 5.
