TDC boss warns contractors on Kpone affordable housing project

The Managing Director of TDC Ghana Limited, Mr. Courage Makafui Nunekpeku has issued a strong warning to contractors working on the Kpone Affordable Housing Project, directing them to speed up construction or risk termination of their contracts.
During an unannounced visit to the site, Mr. Nunekpeku expressed disappointment at the slow pace of work despite provisions being made to facilitate timely delivery.
He stressed that contractors have until the end of April next year to complete their assigned tasks or face immediate dismissal.
“This is not going to be business as usual, where contractors are pampered before they deliver.
We have put all the necessary measures in place, including ensuring cash flow for materials.
They have no excuse,” he told reporters.
The TDC boss further explained that his tough stance stems from the government’s commitment to delivering affordable housing to Ghanaians.
He vowed to maintain strict oversight of the project, emphasising that the era of delays and excuses is over.
The Kpone Affordable Housing Project is one of Ghana’s flagship housing initiatives aimed at easing the country’s housing deficit, and Mr. Nunekpeku insists its timely completion is non-negotiable.
