Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) has announced the arrival of approximately one million barrels of Bonga Crude Oil aboard the MT Cap Felix as part of ongoing efforts to revitalize refinery operations and strengthen Ghana’s petroleum supply chain.

According to management, the crude oil cargo was purchased from Shell and supplied through TOR’s tolling partner, Triangle Commodities Trading, under an arrangement designed to support the refinery’s operational recovery and ensure a stable supply of petroleum products to the Ghanaian market.

The refinery described the arrival of the Bonga Crude as another major milestone in its drive to restore stable refining activities, enhance national energy security, and reduce Ghana’s dependence on imported refined petroleum products.

Management noted that Bonga Crude is known for its high-quality low-sulphur properties and favourable refining yields. The crude is expected to produce significant quantities of premium petroleum products including LPG, gasoline, diesel, kerosene, aviation turbine kerosene (ATK), and fuel oil for both domestic and regional markets.

TOR management also expressed appreciation to the Government of Ghana, regulatory bodies, financial partners, and other stakeholders for their continued support towards the refinery’s resurgence.

The refinery further reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, operational excellence, environmental responsibility, and its long-term vision of transforming TOR into a competitive and commercially sustainable energy hub for Ghana and the West African sub-region.
