Youth urged to embrace agriculture at Ghana Youth Agriculture Summit 2026

Stakeholders at the Ghana Youth Agriculture Summit 2026 (Bono Region Edition) have encouraged young people to take advantage of opportunities within the agricultural sector to drive innovation, entrepreneurship and economic transformation.

The summit, held at Sunyani Technical University, brought together dignitaries, development partners, entrepreneurs and youth leaders to discuss strategies for increasing youth participation in agriculture and agribusiness.

Speaking at the event, the Chief Executive Officer of  National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Eric Adjei  emphasized that Ghana’s future economic growth depends significantly on empowering young people to venture into agriculture and related industries.

The National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP) boss reaffirmed its commitment to supporting youth-led enterprises and positioning young entrepreneurs at the centre of Ghana’s economic transformation agenda.

He encouraged participants  to view agriculture not only as a traditional occupation but also as a modern business sector capable of generating employment, innovation and sustainable growth.

The summit also highlighted the need for greater investment in youth-focused agricultural initiatives, skills development and access to resources to help young entrepreneurs succeed.

Organisers of the event, including AgricWealth, were commended for creating a platform that promotes dialogue, mentorship and practical opportunities for young people interested in agribusiness.
