The Legislative Instrument (L.I.) required to give legal backing to Ghana’s Creative Arts Fund and make it operational is expected to be presented to Parliament for consideration and approval.

Speaking during the Accountability Series on Monday, August 10, the Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, explained that the L.I. is currently at the Attorney-General’s Department for consideration and is expected to be forwarded to Parliament soon.

The Creative Arts Fund is to provide financial assistance for sector initiatives, talent development, artistic projects and other activities that contribute to the growth of the industry.

The establishment of the Fund follows the announcement in the 2026 Budget of GH¢20 million in seed funding by the  government to support the creative arts sector.

The passage of the L.I. will provide the legal and operational framework required for the Fund to begin disbursing support to beneficiaries.
