I'm constantly attacked for my 'pretty privilege' – Salma Mumin
Popular actress Salma Mumin has suggested she is often attacked because of “my beauty, first of all”.
“I’m very beautiful. My mirror shows me I’ve been blessed with beauty.
“And the thing with beauty is, it grabs your attention before the you get a chance to see the substance therein.”
She said beauty was like a popular fizzy drink which draws a buyer by its packaging before it gives the same satisfaction after consumption.
Salma underlined she had come to terms with her “pretty privileged” and its attending pros and cons.
Again, she said she was often attacked “because of my hard work which is the content within my beauty”.
The food and fashion entrepreneur said anyone who was “lucky enough” to be in a professional or romantic relationship with her would testify about this.
She spoke to Nana Romeo, Wednesday, December 18, 2024, lamenting people calling her a slay queen who was unemployed.
Meanwhile, “I see them in the CCTV cameras at my establishment all the time buying food from me,” she underlined the irony.
Though the slay queen tag, “hurt me very much over the years,” Salma said she was confident of God's vindication, arguing her work and intentions had been miscontrued.
