Kwaw Kese urges Ghanaian youth to take charge of nation’s political future
Ghanaian hiplife musician Kwaw Kese has called on young people to move beyond complaints about national challenges and actively participate in politics if they truly desire meaningful change.
Speaking during an interview on Joy Prime on February 18, 2026, the rapper stated that Ghana’s progress largely depends on the willingness of its youth to engage in leadership and governance.
According to him, young citizens cannot expect transformation without stepping forward to be part of the decision-making process.
Kwaw Kese revealed that should he ever transition into politics, he would consider contesting for a parliamentary seat.
He indicated that he would be interested in representing his hometown, Agona Swedru, emphasising his desire to serve his community directly.
The musician stressed that the future of the country lies in the hands of the younger generation, who will soon assume leadership roles.
He encouraged them to prepare now by getting involved in governance rather than waiting for the older generation to relinquish power.
He further advised that entering politics should not be driven by personal gain but by a genuine commitment to community development and national advancement.
According to him, when young people step up with the right intentions, it benefits not only their constituencies but the country as a whole.
Kwaw Kese has previously been vocal about governance and public service issues.
In 2018, following the loss of his newborn child at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, he publicly criticised the state of Ghana’s healthcare system.
He questioned the quality of medical infrastructure and emergency services in the country, highlighting concerns about limited ambulance availability and conditions in public hospitals.
