Veteran Gospel minister Obaapa Christy believes Ghana’s gospel music scene is in a good place, and she’s giving all the credit to God.

Speaking on Accra FM 100.5’s Ayekoo Ayekoo mid-morning show with host P-Kay on Thursday  the "Meti Ase" singer pushed back on claims that gospel music is struggling.

"The gospel industry is doing well. God is helping us"

That was her verdict when P-Kay asked her to assess the state of gospel in 2026.

The singer, who has been in ministry for over 2 decades, said the difference now is that gospel artistes are learning to be strategic and Spirit-led at the same time.

Since breaking out with W’asue Me in 2007, Obaapa Christy remains one of Ghana’s most consistent gospel voices, with hits like Aseda and Meti Ase.
