CMG launches Accra TV at La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra on Saturday, October 17, 2026

Accra TV, a new television channel from Class Media Group (CMG), has officially been launched in Accra.

The launch ceremony was held at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel and brought together media personalities, politicians, business leaders and other guests.

Founder of Class Media Group, Alhaji Seidu Agongo, used the occasion to emphasise the importance of trust and credibility in the media.

“Trust is the foundation of every successful relationship – from family through community to society,” he said.

According to him, the major challenge in the current information environment is not the lack of information but the difficulty in determining what is credible, transparent and true.

“That is where the media comes in,” he said.

“The media serves as the bridge between institutions and the people, between facts and public understanding. But that bridge can only stand if it is built on trust.”

Alhaji Agongo said trust could not be demanded but had to be earned through accuracy, fairness, consistency and accountability.

“Trust is earned through accuracy, fairness, consistency and accountability. It is earned when we verify before we publish, when we inform rather than inflame, and when we have the courage to correct whenever we err,” he said.

He said credibility had been the most valuable asset of Class Media Group and would also be central to Accra TV.

“At Class Media Group, the umbrella body of Accra TV, our most valuable asset has not been our studios, cameras or transmitters. Our most valuable asset has been and will continue to be our credibility,” he said.

He assured viewers and other stakeholders that Accra TV would seek to provide a platform for facts, dialogue and accountability.

“As we launch Accra TV this evening, let me reassure our stakeholders, particularly our audience and viewers that we are committing ourselves to being a trusted platform for facts, dialogue and accountability. We will be a platform that listens, informs and serves,” he said.

Accra TV is expected to provide news and entertainment programming as part of CMG’s expansion of its media operations.

Some of the programmes lined up for the channel include Ama Ghana, a morning show focused on exclusive and inspiring stories; Accra TV Kaseɛbɔ, a news programme; and Celebrity Hub, which focuses on entertainment personality profiles.

Other programmes include Mmaa Filla, which focuses on issues affecting women; Varietey Varietey, which highlights Ghanaian culture, dance and music; and Video Vybes, which showcases music videos.

The channel will also feature Wo Haw Ne Sɛn?, Yensom Yensom, Ma Masɛm Ma Me, Bank As You Sing and Ɛte Sɛn?.

The programmes cover areas including community concerns, legal support, music, relationships and wellbeing.

Guests at the launch included Deputy Health Minister Prof. Dr Grace Ayensu-Danquah, All People's Congress (APC) founder Hassan Ayariga, comic and TV personality Akrobeto, music stars Sasha Marley and Joyce Blessing, and traditional leaders among others.

Alhaji Agongo thanked the staff and audience of Class Media Group for their support and dedication over the years.

“Thank you for believing in our vision. Together, let us build a culture of trust,” he said.

He concluded by calling for the continued growth of Class Media Group and Ghana.

“Long live Class Media Group, Long live our dear Ghana.”
