The Ministry of Food and Agriculture, in collaboration with the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture and the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), will officially launch the 42nd National Farmers' Day Celebration on Tuesday, 30 June 2026.

The launch is scheduled to take place at 10:00 AM at the forecourt of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture in Accra.

According to the Ministry, the event will bring together representatives from Corporate Ghana, development partners, donor agencies, financial institutions, agribusinesses and other key stakeholders in the agricultural sector.

The launch will officially commence activities leading to the 2026 National Farmers' Day Celebration.

For more than four decades, National Farmers' Day has served as a platform to recognise and celebrate the contributions of farmers, fishermen, agricultural workers, agribusinesses, researchers and institutions to the development of Ghana's agricultural sector.

During the launch, the Ministry will unveil the theme for the 42nd edition of the celebration, announce the host region and provide details of the programme of activities, award categories and other key arrangements.

The event will also provide information on sponsorship and partnership opportunities for organisations interested in supporting agricultural development initiatives.

According to the ministry, the launch will offer stakeholders an opportunity to engage with government officials and explore areas of collaboration towards the successful organisation of the national celebration.

The ministry noted that as Ghana pursues sustainable agricultural growth, food security, job creation and value addition, the support of the private sector and development partners remains important to the sector's development.

It, therefore, encouraged organisations and stakeholders to participate in the launch and take advantage of opportunities for engagement and partnership.

National Farmers' Day is observed annually to honour individuals and institutions whose contributions support food production and agricultural development in Ghana.
