Alan Kyerematen calls for grit and courage as African unity talks begin in Accra
Mr. Alan Kyerematen has called for determination, courage and collective effort as African leaders, policymakers and stakeholders gather in Accra for a two-day African Summit aimed at advancing the vision of a more united continent.
Speaking ahead of the opening of the summit in the Ghanaian capital, Mr. Kyerematen noted that Africa’s unity will not come easily but will require deliberate action, resilience and bold leadership.
“When we decide that Africa must unite, it will take effort, grit and guts,” he said, stressing that unity must move beyond rhetoric to practical steps that strengthen cooperation among African states and peoples.
The summit, to be held in Accra, is focused on initiating conversations around the idea of a “New United Africa,” with discussions expected to centre on political cooperation, economic integration, shared identity and the continent’s role in global affairs.
Participants over the two-day event will engage in dialogues and exchanges aimed at redefining Africa’s future and exploring pathways to deeper continental unity.
Organisers say the summit marks the beginning of a broader journey toward strengthening African solidarity, with Accra serving as the starting point for renewed conversations on unity, self-determination and collective progress.
