The Central Regional Minister, Ekow Panyin Okyere Eduamoah, has reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring the effective implementation of government development projects across the region, stating that he will actively monitor projects rather than remain in the office.

Speaking during an inspection tour of ongoing 24-Hour Economy Market projects in various districts and municipalities in the Central Region, the Minister said his appointment by President John Dramani Mahama comes with the responsibility of ensuring that government initiatives are executed efficiently and completed on schedule.

"I will not be a minister who sits in the office and folds my arms. My duty is to move around the region, engage stakeholders, inspect projects, and ensure that government interventions are delivering the intended benefits to the people," he said.

Eduamoah commended President Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government for introducing the 24-Hour Economy initiative, describing it as a policy aimed at stimulating economic growth, creating jobs and improving livelihoods.

According to him, the construction of modern market facilities under the programme will provide traders with improved working conditions while supporting round-the-clock economic activity.

The District Chief Executive for Twifu Hemang Lower Denkyira, Patrick Fiable, who accompanied the Minister on the tour, pledged the Assembly's support for contractors working on the projects.

He assured that the District Assembly would work closely with stakeholders to facilitate the timely completion of the market infrastructure for the benefit of traders and residents.

Fiable also expressed appreciation to traditional authorities and landowners for making land available for the projects, noting that their cooperation reflects a commitment to the district's development.

He further commended the Regional Minister's hands-on approach to project monitoring, saying it would help promote accountability and ensure quality delivery.

Some traders, market women and residents who interacted with the Minister during the tour welcomed the 24-Hour Economy programme and expressed optimism about its potential to create jobs, expand business opportunities and boost local economic activity.

They also appealed to the government to ensure the projects are completed on schedule so that communities can begin benefiting from the facilities.

The 24-Hour Economy initiative is one of the government's flagship programmes aimed at expanding production, promoting industrial growth and creating sustainable employment opportunities across the country.
